Not quite as stupid as the standard Redcare alarm package. Redcare
will only call out the Police on a dual activation of the alarm, ie. window
sensor followed by a PIR. The problem is that is the line is cut they only
get one activation so will only inform your alarm monitoring company and
nothing else - stupid or what.

When BT come and install their part of the Redcare package they will
insist on a direct link between your master socket at the alarm panel, they
fairly obvious don't want this going through structured cabling where it
could be disconnected. Interestingly I have not been asked if I have ADSL,
so that might prove to be a little challenge when it comes to
commissioning.
