Whoa! You're confusing me now! :-)
I think the picture on my 20 year old 23" Sony CRT is fantastic and
it's still going strong. It's just that the kids have been pestering me
for some time to get something widescreen and bigger. I was looking at
32" screens - I can't afford the huge price jump to 36". Now
you're starting to cast doubts in my mind as to wether I should go bigger
or if I go bigger I should be spending considerably more to get the best
picture at that screen size.
Do I take from your comments Phil that, with a 32" CRT you would only
go 100hz? Or am i better say spending the same money and getting something
smaller and 50hx like a 28" Loewe??

Please describe a 50Hz defect or artefact? Large screens show more easily
discernable flicker at low frequencies (50Hz) as they take up more of your
field of view - similar to the way PC monitors flicker at low refresh
rates..
