Most of it is my DVD / MP3 collection and that is all completely
recreateable should it be needed (in fact at the moment I am re-ripping my
entire DVD collection as I decided to have a shuffle around of drives and
servers), everything else (email, digital photos, FTP, porn etc. ;-) ) is
running on a set of four striped IDE drives with the important stuff (like
digital photos) being backed up to DVD-R - so I don't really care if that
fails.

True - only I have write / delete permissions to most of my network ... My
wife has full access only to her section and Demon Spawn doesn't even have
access to the network other than for printing and internet access, however
=
I
do have a batch file on my server which runs every night and if his machine
is turned on (which invariably it is given that he "forgets" to
turn it off=
)
then it copies his "My Documents" folder over to the network into
a folder
named by the date (if you see what I mean).

I was looking at some nice "little" Ultrium LTO tape backup
drives the othe=
r
day - =A312k + VAT - not a hope in hell I'd ever buy one (or even be able
t=
o
afford one) for home use. Even if I could then the tapes would be another
crippling expense! Someone I know who is in HP's tape backup division said
they would try to get me an HP Ultrium changer and tapes but unfortunately
that never came off ... It was the only way I was ever going to back the
bugger up though.

Oh yeah - I'm out of storage space too! :-D
