Hi Phil

I guess it depends what the data is. If you have 3TB it may well be
DVD and Music data that even if it is a real pain you still have the
originals and given a few weeks/months you can replace. for data such
as digital photos or commercial data you can't just load it back on
again as it was the only copy.

Your suggestion of mirroring will only help you in the event of a
hardware (disk) failure. Mirroring data doesn't help at all of you or
someone else deletes that data, both copies are deleted at the same
time.

If you do indeed have 3TB of your own data that is not off normal
media please mail me off list [ADVERT] as I can back that up for you
[Ok so it will cost the same as a small car].
