If you check back in the archives (see earlier post) you will find
quite a bit on this and yes, it consistently causes confusion.
However as you have already surmised, it comes down to picking one
version and sticking to it everywhere.  If your patch panel is marked
with one coding (and this may well be B) then that's probably the
obvious one to go with.
