USB over cat5?

Hi all,
Has anyone out there ever tried to extend USB over CAT5?
I am looking to run a redrat3 upstairs from the driving computer, and
wondered if I could just make some USB to RJ45 tails up and see what
happens over about 5 meters?
Any thoughts?
