Firstly, USB works without repeaters upto 5 metres.  Secondly, this comes
up quite regularly on the list, so a search of the archive will bring up
some useful discussions.  The main point is to make sure you use a pair for
the data pair, and a pair for power.  That way, you utilise the
anti-crosstalk features in the CAT5.
