Not sure? The current one has a 'spruced up' user interface, mine are the
previous version, posibly 2002?? I'll check tonight.
The 'Instant updating' caused numerous problems and I finally found some
info on the net describing the symptoms and it suggested turning of the
automatic update, which seemd to sort things out - It still notifies that
upates are availible and I then manually select update, which updates okay
but then fails in the cleaning up process at the end :-S
My Father has the newer version and his occasionally brings up the same
error dialog that for thae life of me I can't remeber the wording of (even
though I see it several time a week!)
Oh,
and It also installed an application on my Palm T3 (now deleted) which
appears to be useless... unless I want to crash the Palm :-S - it just
seems to list all palm databases, not on the SD card and then hang with an
exception :-(
I can do that with a freeware File utility

I currently run two copies of McAfee Internet security (last years version)
and am fed up with the horrible buggyness of it, error dialogs about drives
not inserted and update errors leading to temporary files being left
undeleted ?!
The years licence is about to run out and I'm not keen on purchasing
another
year from McAfee
Any recommendations on Antivirus software and firewall software (I have
smoothwall at home, but these machines are laptops that are sometimes used
outside of that)
Obviously there is Norton's - but I've heard a couple of similar problems
to
the irritating ones I've been having - of course it could be me ;-)
Ideally a similar price point to McAfee or cheaper ;-)
Thanks
Dave
