Hi,
As far as I know the Athlon 3200 runs at a frequency of 2.2GHz.
The "speed" of a CPU is mainly determined by 2 factors: clock
frequency and
instruction set efficiency.
As far as I understand it, AMD have made certain instructions more
efficient
(through the use of pipelining etc.). This means that an instruction which
may take 5 clock cycles on an Intel CPU, may only take 3 clock cycles on an
AMD.
Therefore, you're not really comparing like with like if you just compare
clock speeds.
Thus why AMD have cleverly done a Cyrix.
