what number does it say on the error screen?  it's probably the jumper on
teh xbox, if you're using an xecuter or evox bios you wont need to lock the
hard drive. although, if the previous drive was locked, you may need to
swap back, unlock the drive, then swap the disks.
how did you prepare the new drive?  best way to do it is off an evox boot
cd, eitehr one you made yourself or a "slayers" install disk.
