Not wanting to Hijack this thread... but how far should an AP radiate its
signal.

I've got a Palm Tungsten C - my AP needs to be about 12ft away to get a
good
signal :(

Yeah, even the cheapo one I bought the other week can act in that manner
...

I can't remember the exact details, but I believe it was some form of
bridging mode or summat.
