mmm..odd

I tried a variable resistor from 20K all the way down to short circuit.
Helped a small amount but the biggest change was obtained by pointing
the remote at the side wall in the AV room (and bouncing the signal).
I'm using the IR distribution of my multi zone amp.

Why would bouncing the IR signal make such a big difference but putting
a resistor in series with the emitter make little difference? Could the
amp IR distribution system be over-amplifying maybe? I did look at the
transmitted vs distributed signals on my scope and they looked pretty
similar (apart from the voltage of the IR remote across the IR LED is
about 1.5V and the distribution system is 5V).

Paul.

Paul,

If the emitter is small enough (I've got some with feedback LED that are
tiny) you could try and stick it just above viewing card. The front
flap is
easy to remove. You could run the wire out under the box and clip the
door
back on.

Might work.

Regards

Simon

PS I'm trying to figure out how to control 2 Sky+ boxes at Node 0 -
since
Sky/Pace have made a stupid decision regarding IR control.
