More connection does give more loss but with good quality connections it
shouldnt be a problem as any losses should be negligable. 75 joins in a 10
metre run of cable will probably cause problems, not least to the bank
account for the cost of all the connectors! 6 to 10 connectors should be
fine provided they are a good fit and mechanically secure.
Poor soldering is not to be recommended.
The joint should be mechanically secure before the solder is applied. Its
purpose is to stop oxidisation of the connection and prvent it working
loose. The finished solder joint should be smooth and shiny. A rough or
dull
solder joint is almost certainly a dry joint and will give a poor
connection
either now or in the future. It will also be a weak joint often leading to
connection failure when any stress is applied to it.
