Re: [ADVERT] Compaq Fingerprint Readers

Hi,
I have a Compaq reader and a MTDiggit - both had 'v1' of the software with
them (got off ebay!). The links in the software all appeared dead but I
managed to track down where they went to. It would appear that Identix now
do all the software for bio finger print readers... So I managed to
download
the software from them, sent thier techy guys a nice groveling e-mail and
the duely sent me the key's to unlock and install it - and links to all the
relavent SP's etc... :) well chuffed

- so now to log on I get a nice(?) american voice saying 'to log on to this
computer put your finger on the fingerprint reader ...'

There is an SDK for it (http://www.identix.com/support/sp_fp.html)
- but
'out of the box' it will react to web pages and 'auto fill' passwords and
other prompts if you tell it too (as well as lock apps from loading unless
you erm finger it)

Hope this helps!
Wayne.
