My experience of them has been very good so far but not had to return
anything.

That's my big problem!!
Since that store closed in Belfast my options are much more limited. I
put all our business through them and am now having to look at some
eTailers which makes this thread good!! I tend not to buy so many
components anymore so maybe I have been lucky with online retailers and
faults. Glad of your advice on this matter.

The risk is that the Internet supplier will ship known faulty or second
hand equipment, scoff at any notion of customer service, and flip you
the finger when you ask for a replacement.

*IN MY EXPERIENCE* this is a very real problem, and happens frequently
enough that saving a couple of quid over a good local store is simply
not worth the pain.

Perhaps we are lucky in the West of Scotland, to have some really good
PC suppliers, (people like Creative Computing, Infinity Computers and
Kustom
PCs) but when I have been fixing PC systems around the country, I have
always been able to pick up a spare part when I need it by simply asking
someone for the local "PC bits shop".

As I said in my original  post: "as always, your mileage will
vary".
