This is a slightly better picture of a different connector but the
central tag is identical. The only difference is that in the ones I have
the nut is further forward. I.e some thread either side of nut.

Subject: [ukha_d] F-type Chasis Mount Socket
Hi
Apologies if I'm being thick here but can someone give me a little help?
I have purchased some panel mount f-type sockets from cpc (
http://custom1.farnell.com/cpc/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CPC+Catalogue&
product%5Fid=CN0589066)
http://tinyurl.com/hde6
But I cant work out how I'm supposed to connect the cable (Inside
panel.) to them. The website picture is non to clear (catalogue picture
is better P.673) but there is a central tag but no outer tag. I had
assumed that it would be a solder connection but with no tag for the
outer ground I am thinking that is wrong, also solder won't take to the
outer section obviously because its too large to heat effectively. So I
then thought well maybe you are supposed to connect a screw on plug to
it, but there is no thread room with the retaining nut in place and the
centre tag does not lend itself to such connection although with a
little 'buggering about' and not using the retaining nut for the panel
mount you can make it work, just!
Can anyone enlighten me? I'm probably missing something really obvious!
Many thanks
Rob
