Doesn't sound like fun.
I'd imagine that a good PIR triggered light and some motion sensitve
software moght do the trick. Do a seach for MV1000 as there may be
some still about. A good quality camera is the main thing though.
Also consider playing classical music. It has been found that youths
don't stand about around shops too long if the shops play classical
music.
