A strange one with LW10's

I was installing a couple of new LW10 on a ceiling fan/light combi,
I installed the first one, tested that the light worked correctly
and remotely and just though I wonder what happens if I have it on
just fan,  I found that I could turn the device off correctly.
Didn't test any further and fitted the next on, on this light I have
the same fan/light but have the fans on one switch and the light on
an other,  I installed both and tested that the light and fans come
on.  Now heres the strange part, the first light/fan I can turn off
but not on remotely the other just fan I can turn ON but not off.  I
wondered if I had the load/live incorrectly set on one but I still
cant figure why only one feature works, any one have any ideas?
