The LW10U Wall Switch/Dimmer is designed for incandescent lights ONLY. It
is not designed for fluorescent lights, low energy lights and certainly
not for capacitive motor loads. The use of a LW10U on a motor is liable to
cause the motor to overheat and burn out. You may use an AW10U Wall Switch
Appliance Module instead but it has not dimming and it requires a neutral
wire.
