Indeed. E-mail harvesting robots are only programs and they, and spamming
programs, are getting more intelligent. It is straightforward to embed
java/javascript/perl/etc functionalities into them if that would increase
their e-mail address yield.
The only sure way at the moment is to display e-mail addresses as a
graphics file but without the related HTML (and plaintext)
"mailto" tag.
Decoding a graphics file, recognising and translating it into an e-mail
address is much harder.
