I'm looking at getting the Matrix Orbital 2 x 20 LCD here...

only £55 inclusive...

I like the idea that this has a keypad interface, so a number of buttons
could be connected directly to it to utilise the same serial port... It
also
has some output lines as well, so it can drive additional LED's and such..

I'm planning to mount it in a UK double faceplace as it happens, along with
about 4 or 6 pushbuttons...

Maplins can do one for as little as £30 for a 2 x 16, but it doesn't appear
to have any additional interfacing options, and the serial port speed is
lower.
