Cat 5 loops between switches and must go back to the consumer unit  (t= o
dimmers etc) ...
all C_bus equipment must have the cat5  connected to it not just switc= hes
also dimmers relay modules , pir detectors etc either daisy chained or star=
config............

Yes you can but just reading the clipsal tech notes there is an issue (in aussie at least) were the cat5 would have to have the same rating as the other mains cable in the consumer unit hence the clipsal pink cat5 is heavy=
duty and mains rated................as i understand it

Not sure on this one ...some electronic ballasts are a problem maybe one fo= r

Cant see why not this is what i would do if i was doing a multilevel
house..Although here in aussie the loft would not be a good location due to=
heat in summer ....44 degrees C last week in the roof space around 50...
One issue here in aussie is that lighting circuits are now required to have=
rcd,s installed on them so its important to have all loads on a dimmer for<= BR> instance connected to the same rcd...........

What i have done Umar is brought the C_Bus comms out to a socket rj45 and jumpered with a patch lead to my patch panel..At the other end i have the C_bus interface plugged into a rj45 socket (carrying the comms) and a seria= l
lead to my computer............

Yes i believe there is a ucm module which links it to Comfort .....Kevin an= d
Rob will verify.......At the moment im using aux inout modules to talk to m= y
Genesis Alarm panel...............

Yep its a 240v 50hz system ...have seen some  mention of 110v 60hz as = well
somewhere.............

programming help available............

I wouldnt use cat5 for electric strikes ....again you could use C_Bus relay=
modules BUT the electric stikes ( latches) usually 12v dc should have their=
own 12v power supply and battery back up..............

I dont use C_Bus pirs but Pulnix ceiling mount and i will be using the aux<= BR> inputs to relay pir status ..mainly for late nite lighting of hallway loung= e
kitchen etc.........
