Lighting

I hope to be wiring up the new house in next few days.

I have told the sparky to wire up each group of lights and related switch
back to the mains - that means we will end up with around 16 lighting
circuits upstairs (dependent on final wiring) and 4 mains circuits
upstairs, and a little more downstairs.

I am not decided about X10 lighting or Clipsal C Bus (is that right) but I
understand that this method of wiring will mean I dont have to decied until
after first fix stage - is that correct?

The questions are

- where can I get prices from for Clipsal system
- if I choose x10 it will come from one of our group members - laser or LA
- they dont know that yet so dont tell them :-)
- what are other lighting alternatives?
- what consumer units will I need?
- can anyone recommend place for cheap twin & earth cable - I think I
might need a lot ....

Also for clipsal lighting, if you have 3 groups of lights in one room, do
you run 1 cat5 cable next to the switch or 3 runs?
