Has anyone used these?

Cat.5 10/100 TX Base Economisers - see

I find myself short of a cat5 socket in one particular room and wondered
about using one of these 'doublers'.  I'm a bit confused about the wiring
comments though. I had thought it was just a case of plugging in one of
these at either end of the cable run...
