Pedro

Is there a link to the clever people ??

As the Navman doesn't remember anything, if you plan the route in the
house, you have to enter it all again in the car ?

Navman certainly looks better

Hi Dean

There are two things here. The iC630 comes with a mains adaptor which
you can use at home to plan your route before you leave so this isn't a
problem if you leave from somewhere with a mains socket.

The other thing is the clever people. There are plans to build a battery
housing which supplies power to the iC630 while not connected to the
lighter charger or mains. Basically a plastic housing clipped over the
back of the unit with 6 or 8 rechargeable batts and a little fly lead to
plug into the unit. Makes it a bit bulkier but probably no bulkier then
the streetpilot. This is only really an issue if you plan to use the
unit while not in a car or house but for me it is critical.

Cheers
Pedro

Hi Pedro

Good pro's and con's

The big one for me is no battery on the Navman - I like the idea of
planning my route before getting in the car - no good if you have to sit
there and do it all in the car...

The one I did miss was the speaker on the Garmin - I shall have to look
at further.

I can find Garmins @ 799

Best on Navman about 999

I'd be interested in the clever people covering the cons !

Dean.
