Hi Mike,
I havent had an Analogue system up and running for about 3 years now so I
dont know what is left out there in analogue and in the clear.
http://www.satcodx.com will give you
details of what is being broadcast
where. If there is something that takes your fance then it is probably a
worthwhile purchase but everything it gradually going digital so how long
it
would be useful for is uncertain.
To answer your points...
1. Not if you want to watch SKY but then again I dont believe they will
sell
a new Analogue subscription and the system doesnt seem to include a
Videocrypt decoder anyway. dont even know how much SKY have left on Astra 1
anyway! (SATCODX will tell you that)
2. Yes, trial and error, followed by minor tweaking.
3. Most satelite locations have multiple satellites co-located. As it
stands, it can only receive from one location but you can add hardware to
switch to different LNB's.
ASTRA 1 at 19.2* East and EUTELSAT 13* East are perfectly possible from an
80cm dish as thats how mine was setup.
Hope that helps.

It could be a great buy but I have a few questions that I don’t know
the answer to:
1. Is a dish without sky subscription any use?
2. Is it possible to fit and align a dish yourself without
specialist equipment?
3. Would this setup receive signals from just one broadcast
satellite, or could I pick-up other signals?
If anybody has any answers for me I would be grateful.
Cheers
