Steve,

I just had to do something very similar.
In order to use my SLIMP3 in my lounge I needed ethernet in there.
I already had a phone socket nearby. So I used the phone cable to pull
through a Cat5 (which has 8 cores..the phone cable only had 6) as there
wasn't room in the woodwork to pull through more than one Cat5 cable.

I then used 3 cores to rewire the phone up and 4 of the remaining cores
I used for ethernet.

Works a treat.
