RE: OT: Water meter

We (just the 2 of us for another month or so, in a 4 bed house) pay about
=A3312 to Anglian water per year for metered water, who I think are one of
=
the
more expensive suppliers. I'd say our usage was medium, with a dish
washer=
,
very leaky pond (something ate through the liner), power showers and
irrigation system on top of the usual stuff.

=A3147 seems pretty reasonable to me for 'unlimited' use.

Presumably when you say 'new', it's new to you, as opposed to a new house -
if the latter, then you have to have a water meter fitted IIRC, but then
again, you've been given a rateable value, so I guess that doesn't apply.

Subject: [ukha_d] OT: Water meter

Hey folks,

Apologies if this mail appears a little off-topic.

I've just moved into a new 3-bed house with my g/f and wondering whether to
have a water meter installed. I'd say our usage was light-medium. Severn
Trent have given me rateable value for the year of GBP147.

What are other people's opinions on the list, have you noticed any savings
by moving to a meter?

If I do decide to get one then it won't be until I get that very leaky cold
bath tap fixed :-)

Many TIA,

Maccy
