Alancc,

The more bells and whistles you use, the fewer people will be able to
access it.

Keep it simple, and everyone can access it...but it won't look as nice.

It's unfortunate, but HTML is a victim here. Different browsers have
implemented their own
extensions to the specifications. Further, they are each tolerant of
mistakes to different degrees.
So there are lots of web pages out there that do not adhere to any official
version of the spec and
only work in a particular flavour and perhaps particular version of
browser.
