On experience the best performing vs cost transformer is the Osram Mouse.
Should be around =A35.00 trade + VAT

We tried a number of different makes to find a suitable model, there is a
degree of humming at low dimming levels, but if they are screwed to joists
or above fibreglass in lofts, you wont hear anything

A while back, somebody recommended these electronic dimmable transformers
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/LTYT105.html
from TLC. Is humming a
feature of electronic as
well as wire-wound transformers? Anyone know if these particular
transformers hum a lot before I
spend some money?

Thanks,
Paul
