[OT] DVD Players

You may remember I asked about repairing my DVD recently (a Sony 536). Well
its £85 for a repair so I think its replacement time....

Considering therefore a Pioneer 656 or Sony 905 -or at least I was until I
just saw somewhere with several Sony DVPNS-900s on offer. As far as I know
these were superceded over a year ago so are obviously old stock and were
reduced.

I have an STRDB940 amp and have always been nagged because the fascia of
the
old DVD didnt fully match the Metal front of the (QS) 940. Now both the
Sony
905 and 900 have the QS metal front so I would gain valuable marks for
getting matching kit ;-). (A significant factor for a quiet life)

I obviously lose MP3 to the 905 and DVD-Audio/MP3 to the Pioneer.

The 900s were ticketed at £250 or £300(MR) but given they obviously have a
fair old stock of them they havent shifted for some time now, I would go
for
alot more discount - Is there any overwhelming reason to steer well clear
of
them ?

Opinions Welcome...
Dean
