Had the same problem with a canopy I made for my aquarium.

I used a couple of 80mm case fans for a computer, running on a wall wart
connected to the same timer as the lights

You could use the switched outlet on the amp, or maybe a thermostat in
there. The fans I got are only running on 7.5v, and move enough air to
keep the tubes barely above room temperature and can only be noticed if
you are right by it.

The other option is some large holes in the bottom, and a chimney
arrangement. I did this first on the lights, but the tubes sticking up
looked stupid. 80mm drainpipe is what I used. 750mm high was making
quite a draught out it.
