At SWMBO's request, I bought a nice TV cabinet at Ikea...... the only
one which would fit all the toys in it. My AV amp is on the top shelf,
because its the one with the most clearance around it, but the problem
is it's getting mega hot when the doors are closed. At the moment, the
doors are sitting open and its fine.... it gets a bit warm, but nothing
to worry about, when the doors are closed and its running, it gets hot
enough to make you flinch when touching it.

I'm guessing my choices are:- (based on leaving the amp in there.....
not enough room to have it anywhere else)

Leave doors open all the time. (SWMBO not keen on this)
Take back off cabinet completely (problem with dust etc, SWMBO keener on
this than leaving doors open)
Drill ventilation holes in back of cabinet.... any suggestions for size,
pattern etc?
Put a hole in the back and mount a fan in it to suck the heat out.

To me, the last one seems the most sensible, partly because it also will
suck dust etc out of the cabinet, but only if it can be a pretty silent
fan..... anyone any recommendations on silentish fans to power from 240v
which would do the job........?

Cabinet dimensions are (WxHxD) 95x75x62 if it makes a difference for fan
size... :)

Cheers
