Re: Symbol SDT-1050

Dear Jon,
I got one of those too. It's previous owner was Datapen
Systems and it was sold by Peak Technologies years ago. I had a look
inside and both the scanner and the base unit have EPROMs with "Datapen
Systems" written on them IIRC so we need to decompile the code and write
something new or figure out how it works. I noticed if I press enter
thrice when it is in the cradle it will try to place the call (I assume
this is for the RS232 comms) but I haven't got any further. When it
fails, the scanner reboots and you will see the startup blah, which may
be of use. Something about the Stylo Baratt SDT Loader Program IIRC.

Yours Sincerely,

Lee Causier.

P.S. I am selling (via my mum's ebay account) Symbol LS2020 barcode
scanners, which I have verified work. If you're interested let me know.
These are RS-232 based.
