RE: Socket Rocket addressability
You use an X-10 transmitter to program it.
You simply screw it into any light fixture, screw in a bulb, turn the power
on, and then send it a code from any X10 Controller within 30 seconds . You
send the same code three times. When the Socket Rocket receives the same
code for the third time it turns on to let you know that it has
"learned" the code.
It then remembers this code indefinitely, even if the power fails. To
"teach" the Socket Rocket a new code, you just remove the power,
reapply it, and then send it the new code three times. The next
Socket Rocket you install will not override the last one due to the 30
second time-to-program feature.

Mark

Subject: [ukha_d] Socket Rocket addressability
I got my Active Home startup kit today and have had my first attempt at
switching devices on and off and am very pleased with this new capability,
although there is still a lot to pick up...
An additional item I ordered was a Socket Rocket, but here I'm a bit
stumped. There doesn't seem to be any way to set a device address as there
is on the lamp and ampliance modules, so how do I get the controller to
know what to contact? Is there any way to pull it apart to gain access to
some hidden dials?
