The din output is low voltage, a trigger is about 3-4v, using the din
port you can detect which camera is triggered, and then HV switches the
corresponding outside light on and other events.
HV does not change the mode, i leave the cam system in home mode all
the
time and HV sends IR commands to the video for recording. HV also
operates a sounder, a short blip instead of a beep.
Just looked for the ADEVA.co.uk website and they have gone !
Just found the manual in my desk drawer.....
Automatic Switch to Away Mode
It is possible to connect a trigger line from Cam8 control panel to an
intruder alarm to make the system switch back to away/home mode.
There are two terminals Alarm Set/Unset on the rear of the control unit
to connect to an intruder alarm.
Note If timers are programmed they will override this facility
AlarmSet Sounder
-veSW+ve SW-ve12v
____________
The -ve should be connected to the -ve terminal of the alarm control
panel
and the SW+ve should be connected to the SW+ve(+ve set) terminal of the
control panel
Thats all its says in the manual, never tried it myself.
If you'd like to know more about the DIN to HV connected let me know
and
post the pin out connections i use.

Martin,

Thanks, that would be really useful if you find it.

So does Cam8 send a 12V signal when a PIR is triggered to the Din port
?
Any
reason why you used the DIN, I would have guessed the 12V sounder
outputs
would have done the same thing ???
>The unit has a DIN socket on the back which

Can you use HV then to change the mode - ie from Home to Away to Scan
to
Buzz to Manual ?
Thanks again

Hi Mark
If its the Cam8 Visuall , I have one, just looked for the manual but i
can't find mine either...
However I have linked mine to HV and it works very well, HV can read
the
PIR triggers and set actions from there depending on whether the house
is in Away or Home mode. The unit has a DIN socket on the back which
i've hooked to the input ports on HV.
If you don't have HV , i'll look for the manual tonight, it maybe with
the unit in the loft

I have got a CAM8 4 Camera CCTV system, and am now looking a trying to
find
a way to remotely change the mode. What I would like to happen is
when
I
turn the alarm on the system automatically goes to AWAY mode, when the
system is disarmed it then goes to SCAN mode.
I already generate an X10 command for the alarm changing status, so I
think
there are 2 options I have -
1st I think there are discrete IR codes that can be sent via a
hardwired
lead into the back of the system (from the description I think this is
how
the remote CAM25 control panel works) If I go down this route does
anyone
have any recommendations of IR hardware that works well with Homeseer ?
Secondly I 'think' I read in the manual you could change the mode of
the
system with a 12v pulse on one of the connectors on the back + power
flash
etc . Unfortunately I have lost the manual so can not investigate
further
if this cycles through each of the modes, or only does 'home' and
'away'
modes (I want AWAY and SCAN modes)
As always, any ideas much appreciated, any if anyone has a copy of the
manual that would be fantastic.
