I'd use epoxy glue rather than screws to mount the microswitch, make
sure surfaces are clean/keyed before fixing.

You might also want to consider using a reed switch (of the type used
for burglar alarms), with switch mounted on cabinet and magnet
mounted on door frame - again using epoxy glue.
