I can (sort of) confirm this. When I bought my house it already had
an ADT monitored alarm fitted, so I duly informed the insurer and got
my cover. When we moved in we had ADT round to check the system out
and they said they could no longer support and monitor it 'cos it was
too old! So I spoke to the insurer and they said it would make no
difference to the premiums at all. I made sure they wrote something
in the records though 'cos you know what they're like!
