Re: Comfort vs. Others Summary - WAS X10 Heating & Security Automation - Another Newbie Q uestion!

Hi David
I dont know how much Comfort costs in the UK but here in Australia it is quite expensive. In some electronic component stores over here you can buy a panel with pirs etc for $400.00 - $500.00. Money spend on rubbish IMO . If you are going to buy some other panel make sure you are buying from a  proper security equipment supplier .And finally if you want a real alarm panel have a look at Genesis .

ps     Now i know how Jerome feels like with his Mac

Thanks for this Mark. You know I'd convinced myself on the cheap
conventional alarm route, saying I didn't need what Comfort provided. Of
course, that doesn't cater for what I want, which is completely different
from what I need. I know Comfort will cost more (especially since I'll end
up buying loads more X10 stuff), but as you so rightly said - "it's the kind
of thing I like playing with". I reckon I'll regret not installing it, and
heck, it's only money. I'll only spend it on more hifi gear otherwise.

Dave
