Bad night for technology

Grrrr.

My TiVo box is dieing. RIP.  Started with the usual excessive seek
noises from
the HD, linked with various on-screen freezes and menu lag.  Called
the
helpline, who made me reboot and unplug and replug all the SCARTS (no
mean
feat), but needless to say it was still ill.  So it's time for
swapsies, just
gotta wait for the local agent to call me :-(

The most tragic thing is I'm not at home for the next couple of nights,
the
video has long since been moth-balled, so no recording of Friends &
E.R.  Sad
times indeed!

To top it all, my Freeserve anytime connection is down, so no internet, and
no
TiVo forum to moan at.

Anyway, gotta go and watch some live TV or read a book or something. 
How old
fashioned!
