[OT] TiVo Upgrade / Linux Help Wanted

I installed a TiVoNet upgrade just over a week ago.
I'm now in the position of only having a bash prompt (ls command
doesn't
work though), no Ping, Telnet, FTP.
The Guide data has just run out as the daily call has been failing for
the
last week.

So basically my TiVo is virtually useless, therefore I'm in desperate
need
of a volunteer to talk me through reviving my TiVo.  My Linux skills
are
virtually useless - I'm a PC man!! ;-((
