I take that as a compliment rather than sarcasm, if I may. :-)

I am sure there is a vast difference in turnover with our two companies
but they should scale up their customer support accordingly.

The sad fact is that I wasn't even complaining or having a problem at the
time. We merely wanted to buy more products. I hate to think what would
happen if we did have a problem and was forced to hold in the queue until
someone from Customer Services answer the call.

For us, we would rather pay more for good customer support, particularly
if you are, in turn, answerable to someone else about the product.
