Hmm..... might give it a go.
I
put
it where it is because
a) It
is node 0
b) It
is central to the house.
It
could go pretty much anywhere in the house (as long as the sprogs can't
reach it
& SWMBO approves) but that is the most central
location.
If I
put it in my office upstairs, it is off to one side of the house, so I
would
probably suffer downstairs in the lounge on the other side of the
house.
According to the manual, the 'direction; of the ariels is important
- but
they are just two sticks basically, so I don't know quite what 'direction'
they
should be facing.
If
they were little Yagis or something then fair ehough - they have a front
and a
back that you can point.
What
can I do with a stick apart from have it vertical or
horizontal?
Realise that.
Just pointing out that with AP upstairs and in
a
central position I get full coverage, worth a try re-positioning
yours.

Ah, buy I _have_ the lucent cards - thanks to John's recent bulk
buy!
My WAP11 is in my study at about waist
height. The study is on the upstairs floor and pretty central in the
house. With the LinkSys WPC11 I was losing signal completely just 2
rooms away from the AP. With the Lucent card I can get coverage
EVERYWHERE in my house.
