Guys,
Many thanks for all the offers of help and advice - you never let me
down on here :)
Would like to thank Jonathan Bradshaw who walked me through each
step, and I now have a fully working upgraded TiVo.
Turns out that the software and install advice from Tom's Hardware
is out of date.
Some of the utils (the backup one for instance) do NOT work with an
updated TiVo running on version 2.5 (which I of course was, hence
the problems).
Also the instructions were incorrect, but hey, mine is all working
now, and swmbo is over the moon :)
P.S - Jonathan - It only took 2 hours to do the DD copy, so it's
all back together and 190 hours available now....yipppeeeee :)
