Could you write a small bash script which is run on start up to run the
commands you need to type in to bring the cards up manually.

Will be downloading ipcop tonight as i have come accros a space box to have
a dedicated linux box again...

So I might be able to help you, if you can do bash scripting, send me the
commands, and I will write a bash script, and tell you how to run it on
startup.

HTH Steve
