Anyone know of one ?
Tried with some telecoms optical optical fibre patches - as
you say had to mangle the connectors then couldn't get a stable connection,
but yes as Phil says with good quality you can go considerable further than
the domestic stuff - some of the kit we make can run over 60Kms.

I might - just might have some old long glass optical-fibre
connections at
work..... will have a look. Might need to mangle the
connector a bit (take
of the bayonet bit), but they might fit. watch this
space.

It can but not with the cheap shitty fibre and
emitters/detectors that
are used in domestic kit.
