I must admit some of the lengthy exchanges have been a bit of a pain, but what specifically have people been complaining about?
 
The 'compression' thread for example should have been taken off list at an early stage but apart from that and similar examples I don't see a major problem.
 
Maybe the occasional ..."take this off list"....instruction from yourself would be better than a full blown moderated list and all that implies.
 
Just my opinion :)

I've had about half a dozen people email or IM me since lunchtime
complaining that the list "isn't what it used to be" etc etc.

To be honest I can do without the hassle.

So, I'm considering moderating the list for a trial period to cut out all
the crap.
