It's amaizing that we are all doing some kind of wiring at home, and still we don't have any instructions, images, schematics on our web site.
Can someone write simple instructions with images and schematics, how we should wire lighting properly.
It's obvious that there are so many qualified people in the group, but because we don't have any guides permanent on site, same questions come up again and again, as someone is doing wiring and needs information.
Cheers,
Nik

Andy,

Yes this is generally correct for 99% of the time, the convention as a
general rule is to wire the live as red, the switched live (or return)
as the black and the earth, if needed. However, as I have discovered
over time many sparks seem not in the least bit interested in
convention!

If you are re-wiring >from i.e. three plus earth as this gives you the
flexibility to chop and change things behind the scenes without ripping
up walls etc. Were I to re-wire for HA this is probably what I'd try to
do, whether it's acceptable practise or not is another matter! :/
