The problem arises when you have a
long
parallel run of several metres. The cables then pick up induced hum
(terrible English
I know)!

Shielding AV
cables from mains?
To put it in perspective
-
how many people have a home cinema system
where the speaker cables are in a mess behing
the
TV, bundled close
to the many mains sockets. I've had this mess
for
many years (just
about to sort it though) and never noticed a
problem. Of course the
incomming mains supply will put out a
considerably
stronger field.
