ACE question

What does "Cant Create DDS link to ECS" mean when I open ACE
server on
my server?

I have HomeVision DDE monitor open and it is showing events happening

What is ECS? I think it is not used nowadays? But not sure. I did try
to
learn ACE a while back but other things took over so I am now trying
again, I have joined the ACE-1 mailing list but do not remember getting
any logon name or password so I am unable to have a look at the site.

I was also getting some advise from another member but they only asked
1
question and never replied again. Is there a good tutorial somewhere
that I can download and have a play? It seems to be a good bit of kit
and if so I will purchase a copy but I want to see it in action first.
